NAIDOC 2017 — Swansea Public School

NAIDOC 2017 was celebrated at Swansea Public School with an opening ceremony where students were recognised for their achievements.

Our 2017 NAIDOC celebrations at Swansea Public School involved Elders of the community giving up their time to share their cultural knowledge with the students. The students were very engaged with all the activities and responded well with great interest and enjoyment. It was very successful, and students and staff wish to thank all members of the community who made it such a fantastic day. It was awesome to hear one of our Aboriginal students do Acknowledgement of Country in his language. Wonderful effort Cody!

Swansea High School students also participated in our celebrations on the day.

On another day we had rotational groups involving members of our community leading the activities. It was an awesome day with everyone becoming more aware of and embracing our Aboriginal culture.
